The Kawarau Health Precinct is a multiple building specialist medical hub. The anchor of the site is an acute hospital, operated by a JV between Southern Cross and the Central Lakes Trust. The hospital comprises 3 state-of-the-art theatres and 13 inpatient beds, together with an adjoining freestanding fully equipped radiology building. The Health Precinct contains a GP clinic, imaging services, medical consultants and childcare to create a breadth of medical experience to deliver quality patient outcomes to the local community and broader region as a destination for care. Retail, office and accommodation is also provided on-site as part of the broader Precinct.

Kawarau Park Health Hub is located in Lake Hayes, a residential growth area of Queenstown. The Queenstown Central Business District is just 9.5kms south-west and the Frankton and airport precinct is just 4.5kms south-west. Primarily surrounded by low density residential development, the area has a growing local population and is adjacent to the Queenstown Country Club, an Arvida-run, premium 5-star retirement village to the north. The site is easily accessed by car with Frankton-Ladies Mile Highway just 400m north which provides the main arterial network in and out of the region. Bus services are available along the southern boundary of the site.
